These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Geographic Core website and its educational materials (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree, do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Geographic Core publishes original geography explainers in English. For questions about these Terms, email hello@geographiccore.org with “Terms” in the subject line.

2. Permitted use

You may read, link to, and share our pages for personal, educational, and non-commercial discussion. You may not use automated means to scrape the Site at a rate that impairs service, attempt unauthorized access to servers, or interfere with other users’ access.

3. Intellectual property

Text composition, page layout, custom graphics, and the Geographic Core name and branding are protected by copyright and other laws unless noted otherwise. Limited quotation with attribution is generally acceptable under fair use or fair dealing in many jurisdictions; full reproduction requires written permission unless we explicitly license content under an open terms statement on the page itself.

4. Educational disclaimer

Content summarizes scientific and geographic concepts for learning. It is not professional advice for engineering, navigation, emergency planning, insurance, or legal decisions. Hazards and environmental conditions change; always consult authoritative local agencies before acting on risk-related information.

5. Third-party services

The Site may load fonts or libraries from third-party CDNs. Those services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes they make.

IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW SUCH LIMITATIONS, OUR LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

You agree to defend and indemnify Geographic Core against claims arising from your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms, except where prohibited by law.

9. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are written in English. Unless a mandatory rule of your country says otherwise, interpretive disputes will be handled under the laws of the jurisdiction you designate when you formally register Geographic Core as a legal entity; until then, treat this clause as a placeholder to discuss with counsel when you incorporate.

11. Severability

If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
